In order to upgrade the software in your receiver, you will need to download the new software that is specific to your receiver (sometimes it is referred to also as "bin" or firmware).  You will also need some type of communication program that will facilitate the transfer of the software from your computer to the receiver.  This type of software is often referred to as a "software loader".  For example, for the StarCruiser model the loader is the "UpdaterLite" program or Window's HyperTerminal program.  For Viewsat models use the "Loader2" program.

These loaders are not interchangeable, that is you can not user the loader for the StarCruiser model to download software for the Viewsat model.  Also, the main software is not compatible.  You can not load the software for the Coolsat into the Satcruiser models. Please make sure that you download the correct software into your receiver.

Please note that the various receivers have different software loaders and also different firmware.  Make sure that you use the correct software for your receiver.  The software is NOT interchangeable, loading the wrong software will cause irreparable harm to your receiver.  If you are unsure of what to do, then do not do it.

If your software is working properly, then do not change it. Change the software only of the new release describes features that you do not have and you can not live without.
